Corrections come first

If a number on this site is wrong, that is the most valuable message you can send us. Every calculator here derives from one shared set of chemistry constants, so an error is an error on every page at once — which is deliberate, because it means fixing it once fixes it everywhere. Tell us what page, what figure, and what you think it should be.

We correct in place and change the review date at the top of the page. We do not quietly edit and pretend nothing happened.

What we can help with

Questions about how a calculator works or where a figure came from — genuinely welcome, and the derivations are written into the source for exactly this reason. Suggestions for questions we have not covered are useful too; several pages exist because the search data showed people asking something nobody had answered properly.

What we cannot help with

We cannot diagnose your specific pool over email. Not because we are precious about it, but because the honest answer would always be “take a full set of readings with a drop kit,” and that is what the tools on this site already do better than a reply could.

For anything involving gas, electrical, plumbing or structural work, or a pool that may need draining, please talk to a licensed professional who can see the installation. And for the long-tail troubleshooting that needs a back-and-forth with people who have seen it before, TroubleFreePool’s forum is genuinely better than any email we could send.

Those emails will not get a reply. If you are a manufacturer and a specification of yours is stated wrongly here, that will get a reply — see corrections above.
