🔴 Chemistry information and your safety

The calculators and guidance on Pool Water Guide are planning tools, not a substitute for testing your own water. Every figure here is derived from published product strengths and standard chemistry, and real products vary. Always read your product label, follow the manufacturer’s directions where they differ from ours, and re-test after dosing rather than assuming a calculated result.

Pool chemicals are genuinely hazardous. Never mix chlorine products with each other or with acid, in a container, a floater, a chlorinator or a bucket — some combinations cause fire or release toxic gas. Add chemicals to water, never water to chemicals. Store products separately, sealed, and away from heat.

Nothing here is professional advice on gas, electrical, plumbing or structural work. Draining a pool can cause a shell to float or collapse; that is a job to discuss with someone who can see your installation and your water table. Where the stakes are physical rather than chemical, get a licensed professional.

Accuracy and updates

We work hard on accuracy and we show our sources, but this is a website and errors happen. Product prices, ratings, availability and specifications change constantly and the figures here carry the date we captured them. Treat any price on this site as historical and check the current one before buying. If you find something wrong, tell us — corrections are welcome and we would rather fix a page than defend it.

The site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the information is complete, current or fit for a particular purpose, and to the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for loss or damage arising from your use of it — including damage to a pool, its equipment or its surfaces.
